M.S.
I am originally from northern Virginia, however I recently moved to Bradenton to begin medical school at LECOM next door
from Boulder, Colorado where I was an Exercise Physiologist for the University of Colorado for the last four years.
I grew up with soccer and backpacking which led to my love of a lifestyle oriented around fitness! Raced mountain
bikes in college, then discovered triathlon. In between college and grad school I hiked 1000 miles of the Pacific
Crest Trail, from Mexico to Lake Tahoe, CA. I love to train for triathlons or other endurance events of all distances
including Ironmans, but ½ Ironmans are still my favorite distance. I also enjoy Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and mountain
climbing with my father and brother; I recently climbed Mt. Elbrus in Russia with them this past summer. Lastly, just
before starting medical school I traveled to France with my bike to ride the Alps and Pyrenees and to watch Lance Armstrong
win his 7th Tour de France this past summer too.

Educated at Penn State, Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Master’s degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology. I have
worked with the strength and conditioning trainers of the Penn State football team, worked on research projects oriented
towards strength and aerobic conditioning of recovering breast cancer patients, and structured personal weight-loss and
conditioning programs for people new to recreation of any type. I have a vast amount of experience with use of a heart
rate monitor as a tool for training and would be excited to integrate heart-rate based training into anyone’s personal exercise
plan. I have been working with National Institute of Health exercise- based research studies since 1999.
My areas of expertise include fitness and weight loss for the beginner, heart-rate based training, and performance oriented
coaching and training. Whether you’re hoping to lose a few pounds, just be able to lift heavy things around the house,
or want to complete your first walk/run 5K or even a sprint triathlon, I am excited to help others discover the lifestyle
of fitness I have come to enjoy so much! I believe in living a life of healthy nutritional choices and regular exercise,
and my goal for others is help them discover a healthy way to enjoy exercise and nutrition consistency… for life!
